Meet Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows on Prison Break)
The actor that plays Lincoln Burrows on the show "Prison Break" is Dominic Purcell. Dominic was born on February 17, 1970 in England. He moved to Australia with his family at age 2. After high school he formed a land-scaping business with some friends. When he was tired of his job as a landscaper, Dominic decided to try acting.
Dominic graduated from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in 1996. In 1997 he landed his first acting role in the Australian TV series RAW. 2000 was a big year for Dominic. He got his big break and made his feature film debut in the role of Ulrich in Mission Impossible 2 with Tom Cruise. Dominic also won a green card lottery which allowed him to live and work in the US.
Dominic filmed on location at Joliet Prison, in Joliet, Illinois. While there he spent many hours in the notorious John Wayne Gacy's old cell. When Dominic was asked about his character on Prison Break he said " There are a lot of people on Death Row, and I'm trying to convey that sense of a man knowing his due date." Also when asked about Joliet Prison, Dominic said "It's a very depressing, dark place, ... and the walls are just stained with sadness."
