The actor that plays "T-Bag" on Prison Break is Robert Knepper. Knepper was born on July 8, 1959 in Freemont, Ohio. When he was growing up, his mother worked in the props department for the community theater, and because of her involvement, he became interested in acting.
After Knepper graduated from high school, he attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL to study drama. During this time Knepper obtained professional roles in plays in Chicago. Before the completion of his degree Knepper quit Northwestern and went to New York City, where he continued to work in theater.
Knepper never intended to work in film and television projects, he began his television and film career in 1986 with The Paper Chase and That's Life. Later on he made multiple guest appearances on tv shows such as Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, ER, LA Law, Profiler, South Beach, Murder She Wrote, CSI: Miami, and The West Wing.
When Knepper was asked about his character on Prison Break he said " T-Bag is not the sweetest guy to play and is one of the most intense characters on television. I am relaxing and then I go back to work playing T-Bag, which is hard work. It takes up a lot of time, but I'll have time for other stuff while I'm working."
